This three-credit introductory calculus course is designed for students of managerial, life and social sciences. Students will develop basic skills in both differential and integral Calculus.Students will be able to find limits of functions and identify continuous and discontinuous functions. They will be able to find derivatives and integrals of polynomial, rational, radical, exponential, and logarithmic functions. They will apply techniques dealing with algebraic operations, including the chain rule, to find derivatives, and find definite and indefinite integrals. Applications dealing with optimization, related rates, and the relationship between revenue, cost, and profit, supply and demand, and graphical areas will be presented. Graphing of functions will be an integral part of the course, and will include their analysis by the use of asymptotes, increasing and decreasing intervals, concavity, and function maximums and minimums. Implicit differentiation and differentials will be applied when appropriate.
