MGMT490 - Business Strategy and Policy
(MGMT490)

The course will expose students to the skills and knowledge required to function strategically in the modern management environment. As a “cap stone” course, the intention is to go beyond simply imparting a new body of knowledge and to build upon previous course work. This course differs from other courses previously taken in that it is not highly structured and theoretical, not exclusively quantitative, nor related to job-specific skills. The problems and issues of strategy formulation and implementation cover the whole spectrum of business and management in the private, public and NGO sectors. Consequently, students should be prepared to analytically and critically examine the different strategic management perspectives, integrate these perspectives with previous course work, and formulate their own original idea of strategic issues, which they can take into the work force, graduate school, and everyday life.
